5 Things Every Facility Manager Should Check Before a Washroom Inspection
Getting ready for a washroom inspection doesn’t have to be stressful. Here are five things worth checking before an inspector walks in.
1. Is the cleaning log current?
Every washroom should have a record of its most recent cleanings — not last week’s, today’s.
2. Is the posting visible?
Whether it’s a printed sheet or a QR code, workers should be able to find the record without asking.
3. Do your records go back far enough?
Most jurisdictions expect a rolling window of history. Know what your local regulation requires before an inspector asks.
4. Does everyone on staff know the process?
Cleaning staff should know how to log a clean. Workers should know how to check one.
5. Can you produce records on demand?
If an inspector asks for the last month of records right now, could you hand them over in under a minute?
If the answer to any of these is “no,” it’s worth tightening up your process before it becomes a compliance gap.
